Umpire challenge scheme scrapped

FORMER Test umpires say the integrity of on-field officials has been preserved with the scrapping of a controversial scheme which would have given players the right to challenge decisions.

The International Cricket Council last night rejected a proposal from its own cricket committee to allow players three challenges an innings if a team felt an umpire's decision was incorrect.More
